９月のレイバーデーホリデーに開催される恒例の日本祭。
お祭りでは大きな会場で、御園棚を使ってのお茶のデモンストレーションをしています。そのためのお稽古を始めました。
お花は庭で今を盛りに咲き乱れている木槿の花。
お棗は生徒さんたちから頂戴した藤蒔絵の中棗。お塗りは今年一月に被災した輪島の作家さん、『匠伯』
ただいま生徒さんとみんなで裏千家歴代のお家元を覚えています。
今月のお茶杓の作は6代まで遡って『第六代お家元六閑斎泰叟宗室』です
The annual Japan Festival takes place on Labor Day in September. During the festival, we host tea demonstrations using the Misono shelf in a large venue. We began practicing for this event in August.
Right now, the Rose of Sharon is blooming profusely in the garden. For the event, we are using a medium-sized tea caddy (natsume) adorned with wisteria, which was a gift from the students. The lacquer work on the natsume was created by Shohaku, an artist from Wajima who was suffered from the earthquake this January.
Currently, students and I are learning about the successive heads of the Urasenke school. This month, we are using a tea scoop (chasaku) that dates back to the sixth-generation head, Rikkan-sai Taiso Soshitsu.
