Karamono Rodemae

We practiced shozumidemae and gozumidemae in ro hearth on the second and third week of November. I hung the scroll of calligraphy which translates “would you like to have tea?”. The flower I chose was a camellia Japonica or sasanqua, which opened beautifully after I picked a week ago as a bud. Since this was shikaden procedure, we served three sweets—a Korean potato cake, a mugwort rice cake, and a slice of pear.

It was the first time for the students to practice karamono procedure with ro hearth. Even though we already learned the same procedure with furo hearth, students looked a little puzzled with this one since the location of the tools and the host were different.
