5月末の週末の茶事でするお点前続き薄茶のお稽古をしました。お軸はちょっと遊び心で『楽あれば苦あり』をかけてみました。
We practiced the procedure tsuzuki usucha (thin tea right after thick tea) for the preparation of the anticipated tea gathering at the end of May. In the alcove, I hung the scroll with the writing “there is no pleasure without pain.”
お花は我が家の庭で今満開のサイベリアンアイリス。お茶室にとても合うお花です。お菓子はそのアイリスを模して『あやめ』です。 紫の色を出すのに苦労しました。インターネットで見る見本とは程遠い出来栄えですが、素人にしてはまあまあでしょう？
Next to the scroll, I placed the Siberian iris from my garden and served the nerikiri in the form of an iris, which one of my students and I had made. It was challenging to create this flower’s beautiful purple color.
続き薄茶のお点前は、茶事の時などに濃茶の後、後炭手前を省略して続いて薄茶を出すお点前です。お客様側の都合で、亭主に濃茶に続いて薄茶をいただきたいという場合と、亭主の都合でする場合と二通りあります。
