いよいよ、9月のレーバーデイホリデー期間中の日本祭でのデモンストレーションの練習が始まりました。今年は野外ステージでのデモになりますので、なるべく簡略化した点前でと、立礼式の『御薗棚』を披露することにしました。御薗棚は終戦後の1957年に裏千家第14世淡々斎宗匠により考案されたもので、優美な意匠が好まれています。事前に、点前に必要な道具はすべて棚に用意します。道具を持ち運ぶたびに立ったり座ったりの所作もなく、椅子に座ってのお点前ですので、大変簡素化されています。基本は通常の薄茶風炉点前に準じていますから、日頃の練習の成果を見せるにも最適なお点前と言えます。
For the upcoming Japanese Festival during the Labor Day holidays, we started practicing the procedure for the demonstration. Since it will be held on an outside stage this year, we will demonstrate the procedure in ryurei style (performed while seating in chairs) using misonodana. This misonodana was first introduced by Tantansai, the fourteenth Iemoto of Urasenke, in 1957 after the war. Because every utensil is set on the misonodana prior to the ceremony, the procedure is simple without having to sit or stand while the host carries the utensils. The procedure itself is close to basic usucha furodema, so it is a good opportunity for the students to demonstrate the skills they learned in weekly practice .
